LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska senior WR Jordan Westerkamp, senior TE Cethan Carter and sophomore RB Devine Ozigbo were not in pads during Tuesday’s practice.
Westerkamp and Carter were in street clothes. They watched practice from the sideline.
Ozigbo was in a jersey and shorts and did some light running on the sideline.
No offensive coaches were available to the media so there is no update on whether any of those players will be available for the game against Indiana.
More notes from practice:
- Defensive coordinator Mark Banker gave a little insight into how the Huskers practice tackling. “We work on an aspect of tackling every day and there’s usually three drills involved,” Banker said. “One with tracking, one with working your feet to get them in the proper position to coincide with the proper shoulder to strike with, and then the actual technique of the shoulder strike, the punch and the wrap.”
- Banker said he was disappointed in his team’s tackling in the Illinois game primarily because of their positioning.
- Whether Nebraska is 1-4 or 5-0, secondary coach Brian Stewart said he likes to walk around campus with some swagger.
- Holder Zack Darlington and kicker Drew Brown (per usual) had a little fun before practice on Tuesday. This time, Darlington was the kicker, and Brown was the snapper. Here’s how it went:
