LINCOLN, Neb. — After its second loss of the second — by the second-largest margin of defeat in its history — Nebraska dropped drastically in the most recent polls released Sunday.
Nebraska (7-2, 4-2 Big Ten) lost to Ohio State on Saturday 62-3 and is feeling the hurt in the polls. The Huskers fell 10 spots from No. 10 to No. 20 in the Coaches Poll, and 12 spots from No. 9 to No. 21 in the AP Top 25.
Previous rankings: (Coaches/AP): No. 10/No. 9
New rankings (Coaches/AP): No. 20/No.21
Last result: 62-3 loss to Ohio State
What it means: All the ground Nebraska gained in terms of national perception was crushed with the 59-point loss on Saturday. Nebraska is lucky to still be hanging on in the polls, and it’s doubtful the Huskers will reach anything higher than No. 15 for the rest of the season.
Up next: Nebraska hosts Minnesota at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
