Later on Saturday night, ESPN College Football reporter Mitch Sherman tweeted that Westerkamp was released from the hospital, but that no updates were given on his status. The Spun provided these following tweets in a story about the wide receiver.

About 50 minutes later, Westerkamp tweeted from his personal account congratulating his team, but there has been no update on his health from him or the school since.

The Huskers won the game, and before he left, Westerkamp had four catches for 65 yards.
