Nebraska’s Bob Diaco brings consistency and weird quotes, Big Ten announces Huskers’ basketball schedule, and more
Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Husker sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Husker football, recruiting, basketball and more.
The consistent and funny Bob Diaco
Nebraska defensive coordinator Bob Diaco is a funny guy. Kevin Sjuts of KOLN/KGIN-TV in Lincoln compiled the best quotes from Diaco after Tuesday’s practice and the result is worth watching.
Aside from the funny quotes, Diaco also coaches the punters and has been working to help sophomore Caleb Lightbourn find consistency.
Bust out the calendars
Get your calendars out, Nebraska basketball fans. The Big Ten has officially announced the Huskers’ full schedule, dates and games for the 2017-18 season.
Nebraska will open conference play Dec. 3 at Michigan State.
A recruiting monster
That’s what cornerbacks coach Donte Williams has a chance to be. Steven M. Sipple of the Lincoln Journal Star spoke with Williams about what he brings to Nebraska’s recruiting and the possibilities are big.
Missing wide receivers
Where have all the Huskers’ wide receivers gone? Corn Nation’s Big Red Cobcast set out to find the answer. Could it mean Nebraska will have to run the ball a lot in 2017? ‘Run the ball‘ guy is very happy with that idea right now.
Class must go on
Nebraska students hoping to get out of class on Monday shouldn’t hold their breath. While the eclipse takes place, the Huskers first day of the fall semester will be in full gear. That doesn’t mean professors may not take a short break to let students experience history though.
No place like it
As the fight song says, “There is no place like Nebraska.” After the Big Ten Network’s visit to Nebraska, it appears the crew feels the same.
Center of everything.
