While No. 7 Nebraska received good news about one pass catcher Monday, there’s bad news about another in Lincoln.
Tight end Cethan Carter will not play against No. 11 Wisconsin on Saturday, Huskers coach Mike Riley announced. This will be Carter’s third missed game in a row because of an elbow injury.

Carter, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound senior, had 10 grabs for 101 yards and a touchdown this season before suffering the injury against Illinois on Oct. 1. He’s averaged 13.1 yards per catch during his Nebraska career and has scored 4 touchdowns.
Without Carter, Sam Cotton has been starting at tight end for the Huskers. Cotton has eight grabs for 87 yards this season.
Receiver Jordan Westerkamp was also injured in the Illinois and like Carter missed the last two games. On Monday, however, Westerkamp was listed as a starter for Saturday’s game.
