Nebraska: Scott Frost and staff prepare UCF to face Auburn in Peach Bowl
Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.
One of the greats
Auburn coach Gus Malzahn had nothing but good things to say about new Nebraska coach Scott Frost on Sunday at their joint press conference. He hopes Frost’s choice to stick by UCF for the Peach Bowl becomes an example for others.
Speaking of great coaches, new Nebraska defensive coordinator Erik Chinander expects great things from linebackers coach Barrett Ruud.
On the moon
If Nebraska fans needed any validation that Frost’s staff is loyal to him, Chinander’s weekend quotes highlight just how much this staff appreciates one another. When asked, Chinander was clear he’d coach for Frost anywhere. That includes the moon.
A big move
Sean Beckton, Nebraska’s new tight ends coach, is a UCF Knight through and through, but he’s joining Frost’s Huskers staff. Needless to say, Frost is happy to have Beckton with him in Lincoln.
No need to overreact
Watching the Peach Bowl? The Lincoln Journal Star’s Steven M. Sipple provides ways to look at the game without overreacting in the end.
