Nebraska football: Rumors run rampant for Huskers; players work to keep morale high
Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.
Rumors, rumors, rumors
Not a fan of rumors and speculations? Then it’s going to be a long couple of weeks for you, because there is already a lot of speculation about what is going to happen at Nebraska. Word even spread on Friday about a deal being “close” between current UCF coach Scott Frost and Nebraska, but Frost quickly denied those rumors.
But don’t expect the rumors to die down any time soon. They’re likely only heating up.
It can be hard to stay motivated at 4-7 overall, but the Nebraska football team is doing its best. Team captains are working hard to keep morale high, while sophomore cornerback Lamar Jackson says its extremely important the team stays motivated.
As for coach Mike Riley, he’s doing his best to end the season on as much of a high note as he can.
Friday night lights
Many of Nebraska’s commits and targets on the recruiting trail are now in state playoffs for their high school teams. Land of 10’s Chris Bumbaca broke down all the Friday night lights, which included a star-studded performance from wide receiver Joshua Moore.
Near the end
The Land of 10 Power Poll is nearing its end as the regular season begins to come to a close. For now, the Huskers have settled at No. 12, but there’s still one more week to jump ahead.
