The Nebraska recruiting machine churns all week. Join us Monday through Friday nights when we recap recruiting news and offer analysis and context.
Joshua Moore to go back to Texas
Joshua Moore, 4-star wide receiver and one of Nebraska’s top targets, was again in the news when reports began circulating he could be headed back to Yoakum, Texas, from IMG Academy in Florida.
A source confirmed Moore’s move on Monday.
Moore’s tenure at IMG lasted just one semester, and he never played a down for the boarding school.
He will now rejoin his brother, 4-star safety Jordan Moore, at Yoakum.
So, what does that mean for Nebraska?
Well, first off it’ll be easier for wide receivers coach Keith Williams and cornerbacks coach Donte Williams to recruit the brothers, who are both trending toward Nebraska on the 247sports crystal ball.
However, both are now closer to Texas A&M, where Jordan is currently committed.
The brothers are announcing a commitment on June 18, which would be two days after Nebraska’s first Friday Night Lights camp.
Huskers on Calvin Avery’s list
Nebraska made the top 12 for 4-star DT Calvin Avery.
— Boogie++🍇™ (@_TMBoog) May 14, 2017
Avery is from Bishop Dunne High School (Texas), where 2017 signee Damion Daniels attended and where 2019 commit Marquez Beason currently plays.
Avery visited Lincoln for the spring game in April. He’s rated the No. 10 defensive tackle in the 2018 class. The 247sports crystal ball currently favors Nebraska for Avery.
Nebraska in Owen Pappoe’s top 10
The Huskers made another top list over the weekend, this one from 2019 linebacker Owen Pappoe.

Pappoe holds 40 total offers, is the No. 1-rated outside linebacker in the 2019 class, and 247sports has him as the No. 4 player in the class.
He unofficially visited Florida State on April 29. For Nebraska to make the top 10 without a visit is a testament to how good a recruiter linebackers coach Trent Bray can be.
About that commitment …
So remember the talk about Nebraska getting commitment No. 11 soon?
Table that discussion a bit.
We won’t release who it was or any specifics, but the person this tweet was intended for …

… apparently won’t be committing anytime soon. A few sources have indicated the recruit will try to take more visits before committing anymore.
As we always say, take most everything in recruiting with a grain of salt — even a tweet clearly indicating to be on watch for a commitment.
Regardless, don’t hold your breath on that commitment.
Chris Bleich to attend camp
Chris Bleich, the 3-star offensive tackle and former Penn State commit, told Land of 10 he is planning to be at a Friday Night Lights camp this summer but isn’t sure which one yet. There are two, on June 16 and June 23.
He also said his commitment is coming in mid-June.
Nebraska target to announce list
One of Nebraska’s top defensive end targets is set to announce his top schools on Friday.
— Daniel Carson ® (@sports__finest) May 14, 2017
Daniel Carson is the No. 19 strongside defensive end in the 2018 class and the No. 10 player from Missouri. He attends William Chrisman High School in Independence, Mo., which is just outside Kansas City.
The 3-star prospect currently holds 19 offers, including from Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Alabama and Arizona State.
Nebraska QB target Jalen Mayden was selected to compete in the Elite 11 on Monday.
— Elite11 (@Elite11) May 15, 2017
Mayden is a 4-star dual-threat quarterback from Sachse High School (Texas).
He recently put Nebraska in his top five schools, along with Louisville, Baylor, Mississippi State and Tennessee. He’s yet to visit Lincoln.
