LINCOLN, Neb. — Former Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong recorded the highest vertical jump at pro day on Tuesday with a 37.5-inch leap. He followed that with 16 bench-press repetitions of 225 pounds, a 10.3-foot broad jump and a faster 40-yard dash time than he expected, clocking in at 4.53 seconds.
Armstrong and several other former Nebraska players worked out in front of 23 NFL teams during pro day.
NFL combine participants safety Nate Gerry and tight end Cethan Carter also participated in workouts, along with TE Sam Cotton, TE Trey Foster, OL Sam Hahn, OL Dylan Utter, OL Corey Whitaker, DL Ross Dzuris, DL Kevin Maurice, LB Brad Simpson, WR Alonzo Moore, WR Brandon Reilly and RB Terrell Newby.
Players began the day with vertical jumps, broad jumps and bench presses of 225 pounds.
