Nebraska (13-7, 4-3 Big Ten) and No. 23 Michigan (16-4, 5-2 Big Ten) meet Thursday, Jan. 18, at 9 p.m. ET at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Thursday meeting is the 17th between the two programs, dating back to 1949. The Wolverines lead the all-time series 14-2, although Michigan’s win over Nebraska in the 1992 Rainbow Classic was later vacated. The Huskers are looking to snap a 10-game losing streak to Michigan on Thursday. The streak dates back to 1980.
Michigan is the only Big Ten team Nebraska has not defeated since joining the conference.

Nebraska-Michigan basketball preview
Nebraska comes into the game after an exciting 64-63 win over Illinois on Monday. James Palmer Jr. hit a 3-pointer with only 0.3 seconds left to win it. The last-second shot capped off a 24-point performance from Palmer against Illinois.
The Huskers last two games have come down to the wire, although the meeting at Penn State did not fall in Nebraska’s favor. Against the Nittany Lions, Nebraska lost in the final 2.7 seconds of overtime.
Palmer wasn’t the only star against Illinois. Both Isaiah Roby and Evan Taylor were key in the Huskers’ rally over the Fighting Illini. The game was Roby’s first start of the year and he nearly posted a double-double, finishing with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Taylor added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists off the bench.
As for Michigan, the Wolverines come to Lincoln having won 9 of the last 10 games. That includes a 10-point win over then No. 4 Michigan State last Saturday.
The No. 23 Wolverines defeated Maryland 68-67 on Monday. In another Big Ten game that came down the the wire, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman’s two free throws with 1.2 seconds left helped Michigan escape with the win. Beyond Abdur-Rahkman, Michigan also features the star duo of Moritz Wagner (14.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) and Charles Matthews (14.9 ppg, 5.2 rpg).
Michigan’s last loss was to Big Ten co-leader Purdue on Jan. 9. The team’s only other Big Ten loss was to Ohio State on Dec. 9.
The Wolverines are averaging 76.3 points per game and rank second in the Big Ten with 9.6 3-pointers per game. Michigan also leads the Big Ten in turnover margin (+4.7 per game), committing a conference-low 9.8 turnovers per game.
The game marks the return of Nebraska center Jordy Tshimanga, who is back with the team after an absence last weekend.
