The Nebraska athletic department announced Wednesday that the Huskers will host three free fan fests in June. The events will take place over three consecutive Fridays — June 16, June 23 and June 30 — with two coinciding with Nebraska’s Friday Night Lights camps, an event coach Mike Riley typically invites fans to be a part of.
“We are very fortunate to have the most loyal, supportive and enthusiastic fans in the country,” Riley said. “We are always looking for ways to show our appreciation for what the fans mean to our program, our coaches and our student-athletes. We think this is an outstanding opportunity to connect with our fans and to express our gratitude for their support.”
All three fan fests will begin at 5 p.m. CT and last for approximately two hours outside of Memorial Stadium on Stadium Drive. Fans that attend on June 16 and 23 will also be able to watch the Friday Night Lights recruiting camps. The June 30th event — which does not coincide with a camp — will have field access for fans.
Fans can expect free food, appearances by former Huskers, giveaways, games and more during each event. The three fan fests will also be in addition to Nebraska’s annual football fan day, which is scheduled for Saturday, July 29.
