On Friday, Nebraska will take on Tennessee in the Music City Bowl in Nashville, about 200 miles west of Gatlinburg, where wildfires killed 14 people and destroyed numerous homes and businesses last month.
To honor the victims of those fires, the Cornhuskers will wear helmet stickers reading “Mountain Tough” when they take on the Volunteers.

The wildfires in Gatlinburg began Nov. 28 when hurricane-force winds blew embers from a forest fire toward the town of about 4,000 people. Fourteen people died in the fires and more than 130 were injured.
The Music City Bowl will be played Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
