Nebraska kicks off spring football practice; more offers out for defensive standouts
Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.
So it begins
Nebraska officially kicks off spring football practice on Friday. The one practice will be it for the Huskers until the team returns from spring break, but coach Scott Frost wanted to be sure the team knew the expectations prior to break.
In the meantime, there will be plenty worth watching this spring. Frost, in his first press conference of the spring, shared what he’ll be keeping an eye on.

The offers continue
The Huskers aren’t slowing down on making 2019 offers, and that’s especially true on defense. Land of 10’s Chris Bumbaca broke down all the latest offers to standout defensive players.
On to the next gig
Former Nebraska defensive coordinator Bob Diaco wasn’t even in Lincoln for a full year before things fell apart. After a little time to regroup, Diaco has found a new landing spot as a defensive analyst with Oklahoma.
A focus on Florida
It’s no secret that Nebraska’s new football staff has quite a few ties to Florida. After coaching at Central Florida, Frost has made it clear he will continue to focus on the Sunshine State.
Friday Night Lights
For those wondering about the future of Nebraska’s Friday Night Lights camps, an answer has finally arrived. Frost’s staff will continue the tradition started by former coach Mike Riley and his staff. More details are expected later.
