Nebraska football’s 2018 spring game is going to be a big deal in Lincoln.
The Huskers quickly sold out tickets for the April 21 scrimmage at Memorial Stadium, and it’s not cheap to get a ticket on the secondary market. Huskers fans are excited to see the start of the Scott Frost era.
Nebraska’s spring game could be the best-attended spring game of 2018, and it also will be one of the most-talked about. Sporting News’s Bill Bender listed Nebraska’s scrimmage as the No. 2 “must-see” spring game of the year. The Huskers were listed behind Alabama, the defending national champs who have an intriguing quarterback situation.
Here’s what Bender said about Nebraska’s spring game:
Nebraska sold out the spring game in fewer than 24 hours, and re-sale tickets are through the roof. Why? Scott Frost is back, and that alone has generated excitement not seen in Lincoln since the ’90s. The game itself will show there’s work to be done, but Frost’s dynamic presence, coupled with a sellout crowd, will draw a lot of attention. Big Red is on the way back.
Nebraska was one of three Big Ten programs on the “must-see” spring game list. Ohio State (another big-name program with a quarterback battle) was No. 4 and Michigan (which could be showcasing Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson) was No. 6 on the list.
