Want a ticket to go see the Nebraska spring game in April?
Well, you better act fast.
On Tuesday, Nebraska’s ticket office posted on Twitter that 57,342 tickets were sold for the Red-White scrimmage on April 21 by 4:30 p.m. Purchasing tickets for the game was made available on Tuesday to season ticket holders.
The ticket office also posted that at least 10,000 tickets would be available on Wednesday for when the general public can purchase them beginning at 10 a.m. To give some perspective, 78,312 fans went to see the team’s spring game in 2017.
After Bo Pelini was hired, in 2008, the spring game saw its all-time high in attendance set at 80,149. In 2015, after Mike Riley was hired, 76,881 fans showed up to see the Huskers.
Now, after Scott Frost has been hired, there will likely be a big number itching to see what the new-look team exactly looks like. Frost has lit a fire under the fan base, and, in a good way.
The amount of tickets that are being purchased already to see the 2018 team play against each other in April speaks to just that.
