Nebraska’s future just got a little brighter — and it has nothing to do with Scott Frost.
Nebraska is installing LED lights at Memorial Stadium, according to Steve Rosen of HuskerOnline. The upgrade is reportedly set to be installed ahead of the 2018 season.
The new LED lights will be capable of special effects and will be able to turn instantly on and off, Nebraska associate athletic director John Ingram told HuskerOnline. He also noted that it will brighten up the Huskers’ end zones, which may have seemed a little dark in the past.
“Right now the end zones are a little dark,” Ingram said.
The Huskers’ home schedule in 2018 includes dates against Akron, Colorado, Troy, Purdue, Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan State. No kick off times have yet been set, so it’s unclear when the program will get to debut its new lighting system.
Nebraska will host its annual spring game next Saturday at 12 p.m. ET.
