Following Michigan State’s first Big Ten loss of the season on Saturday, Nebraska basketball is now alone atop the conference standings.
The Cornhuskers, after a perfect 3-0 start to their conference slate, are a half-game in front of Wisconsin and the Spartans. Wisconsin is the only other team in the Big Ten that hasn’t lost a game inside the conference.

While there is still plenty of basketball to be played this year, Nebraska’s placement in the conference standings certainly comes as a surprise. The Big Ten had five teams ranked in the AP Top 25 poll to begin the season. Nebraska was not one of those teams.
But, behind top scorers Tai Webster and Glynn Watson Jr., the group is riding a 3-game winning streak against Big Ten foes. Each win has come by no more than four points, including a 93-90 double-overtime victory over Iowa on Thursday.
The Cornhuskers’ next contest is against Northwestern on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. ET.
