Nebraska baseball signee John Swanda has been drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the Major League Baseball draft. The Roosevelt (Iowa) two-way player was selected in the fourth round, No. 115 overall, on Tuesday.

He is one of seven verbal commitments in Nebraska’s 2017 recruiting class, per 247Sports. At 6-2 and 185 pounds, Swanda plays both shortstop and is a right-handed pitcher. His fastball has topped out in the low 90s.
Swanda recently was named to Perfect Game’s 2017 National Pre-Draft Top Prospect List. He now will decide between signing with Nebraska or pursuing a career with Angels, although it appears he has already made a decision.
