Nebraska’s new leader: Cornhuskers hire Bill Moos as athletic director
Nebraska football is the No. 1 topic in Big Red Rising every day — but we cover news, notes and analysis from across Huskers sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Huskers football, recruiting, basketball and more.
A new leader in town
Nebraska officially has its new athletic director. The Huskers introduced former Washington State AD Bill Moos as the new man in charge of Nebraska athletics on Sunday. It’s a job that has been on his radar for 25 years, and Huskers fans now hope he can right the ship.
Coach Mike Riley said he’s familiar with Moos and is looking forward to working with him.

The wrong kind of history
Nebraska fans witnessed history in the Huskers’ 56-14 loss to Ohio State Saturday evening. It just wasn’t the right kind of history for the Huskers fan base.
Where do the Huskers go from here? That’s a great question to ponder.
Youth in a new scheme
The Buckeyes exposed the weaknesses on Nebraska’s defense, but defensive coordinator Bob Diaco sees it as youthful errors. For him, the players are improving and learning on the fly every week.
There was no change for the Huskers in the latest Land of 10 Power Poll, but that’s probably appropriate. After the loss to Ohio State, there wasn’t much room to move.
