Mike Riley’s tenure as Nebraska’s football coach keeps getting rockier, and ESPN is the latest outlet to shine a light on the Huskers’ situation.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg mentions former Florida coach Jim McElwain, current Arkansas coach Bret Bielema and Wyoming coach Craig Bohl as potential candidates for the Huskers if they have a job opening soon.
McElwain has some image rehabilitation to do after his firing from Florida. Bielema is still the coach at Arkansas, but his time there could be limited after a 4-6 start to the season. Bohl, a Lincoln native and Nebraska graduate, has Wyoming humming at 7-3 with NFL quarterback prospect Josh Allen.
Riley’s Nebraska team is 4-6 ahead of a matchup at Penn State this weekend. The Huskers are huge underdogs in this one, with Penn State opening as a 38-point favorite.
