Like many of his fellow Huskers, former Nebraska WR Jordan Westerkamp did not hear his name called during the three-day NFL draft in Philadelphia.
And as other ex-Huskers, such as Tommy Armstrong, Brandon Reilly and Cethan Carter, started signing undrafted free-agent deals, Westerkamp waited. Finally, on Sunday afternoon, he got some news.
He will get a tryout with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Fox Sports’ Peter Schrager.

Westerkamp was a factor in all four of his seasons in Lincoln. The 6-foot, 200-pound wideout had 167 career catches for 2,474 yards and 18 touchdowns. His best season came as a junior when he had 918 yards and 7 touchdowns on 65 catches — all career bests — in 13 games.
And Westerkamp wasn’t the only former Nebraska player getting a tryout. Husker Online’s Sean Callahan reported Sunday that OL Sam Hahn was getting a tryout of his own with the Minnesota Vikings.
