On Tuesday afternoon, Lane McCallum — who originally committed to Air Force as a kicker — announced he was transferring to Nebraska.

McCallum, coming out of Norfolk High School in Nebraska as a recruit in the Class of 2017, played a lot of linebacker during his days at Norfolk. It isn’t known as to how exactly McCallum will help the Cornhuskers on the field yet — his Twitter bio states that he is a “Safety for the University of Nebraska.”
The 6-foot-2 athlete holds Norfolk’s school record for points scored with 354. McCallum was deemed an All-Nebraska kicker during his time at Norfolk and was fourth on the team in tackles his senior season.
McCallum’s first scholarship offer came from Air Force.
