Tim Miles and Nebraska lost out on a coveted recruit Monday when Wisconsin point guard Tyrese Haliburton chose Iowa State over the Cornhuskers.
The 6-foot-2 3-star prospect from Oshkosh, Wis., also had offers from Cincinnati, Minnesota and Northern Iowa, among others.

Haliburton is the No. 34 point guard in the Class of 2018 and the No. 5 overall player in Wisconsin, according to the 247Sports composite. He took an official visit to Nebraska earlier this month and named the Cornhuskers in his top five last week. He has an official visit to Iowa State scheduled for the end of September.
With Haliburton choosing the Cyclones, Nebraska’s 2018 recruiting class remains light. The Cornhuskers’ only commit is Brady Heiman, an in-state center who is not rated by 247Sports.
