Former Nebraska coach Bill Glassford died earlier this week at 102, the school announced.
Glassford, who was born March 8, 1914, was America’s oldest living former professional football player, according to a release. He coached the Huskers from 1949-1955, going 31-35-3.
Glassford played collegiately at Pitt before spending a season with the AFL’s Cincinnati Bengals in 1937.
He received an honorary Nebraska letter a year ago. “It’s a very special honor that I am very proud to display,” Glassford said at the time.
