Add Bobby Bowden’s name to the long list of people who approve of Nebraska’s hiring of Scott Frost.
The legendary Florida State coach commented on Frost’s success at Central Florida and his hiring at Nebraska in a wide-ranging interview with Omaha World-Herald.
Bowden, who won a pair of national titles with Florida State and finished his lengthy college coaching career with 377 total wins, said that Frost’s UCF team “has a right” to claim a national title after going 13-0 and beating Auburn in the Peach Bowl.
The 88-year-old Bowden also praised Nebraska’s hire of Frost.
“I am very excited about Nebraska’s hiring Coach Frost. I think if there has ever been a perfect fit, that is a perfect fit, Bowden said.
“…He’s got Nebraska blood. He was raised in Nebraska, he lived in Nebraska. I’m sure his blood runs with Nebraska. And that’s one thing about Willie Taggart coming to Florida State. The one thing I like about it is he wanted to be here. He wanted to be here. Well, that’s good.”
