Happy Holidays, Nebraska recruiting staff.
Class of 2017 3-star linebacker and Muskegon, Mich., native Drew Ward verbally committed to Nebraska on Sunday, giving the Huskers some depth at the second level of defense.

Ward is the 14th commitment for the Huskers this recruiting season, and he also becomes the third linebacker commitment for Nebraska in this class, joining 4-star linebacker Avery Roberts and 3-star linebacker Willie Hampton.
What makes Ward’s commitment so important to the Huskers is that his profile says he can play both inside and outside linebacker. Nebraska has three senior linebackers on its current roster: Brad Simpson, Josh Banderas and Michael Rose-Ivey. Those three racked up 156 tackles this season, meaning there will be big shoes to fill should they graduate come spring.
Ward also fielded scholarship offers from Indiana, Penn State and Minnesota. He still has visits scheduled to Indiana and Iowa State.
