Allen is listed at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds. The 247Sports composite ranks Allen as No. 17 in the country at shooting guard and No. 3 among North Carolina prospects. He had previously committed to North Carolina State, but decommitted in late March.
With Allen’s commitment, he is set to join 3-star Nana Akenten as part of the 2017 class. The news is a huge positive after coach Tim Miles lost four players because of transfers. Michael Jacobson, Nick Fuller, Ed Morrow Jr. and Jeriah Horne all left the program.
Georgetown transfer Isaac Copeland is joining program and Miami transfer James Palmer Jr. is also set to play next season.
