Minnesota football added some linebacker depth on Monday night with the commitment of preferred walk-on Ty Barron.
Barron made the announcement via his personal Twitter and joins the Golden Gophers 2018 recruiting class.

Barron is unranked according to 247Sports, but is listed as an inside linebacker.
He comes to the Gophers at 6 feet tall and 220 pounds and played his high school ball in his hometown of Minnetonka at Minnetonka Senior High School.
He also had an offer from Cornell according to 247 and had some interest from Iowa as well.
