Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck has a 2018 quarterback commit.
Brennan Armstrong, a 3-star QB from Shelby, Ohio, announced on Sunday that he has committed to the Gophers. Armstrong visited Minnesota just a week earlier.
“I just want to start by saying, thank you to the man upstairs for giving me the opportunities and abilities to achieve what I have always dreamed of,” Armstrong shared on Twitter. “Also, want to thank my family, friends and the Shelby Community you have supported me and showed me so much love the whole way through this process! I want to thank every single coach that recruits me also! After a long process, I am officially going to be continuing my academic and athletic career at The University of Minnesota!”

Armstrong is ranked No. 26 for Ohio and No. 22 nationally by 247 Sports composite as a dual threat. He’s also listed at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds. 247 Sports’ crystal ball listed the Gophers as the favorite, followed by North Carolina and Iowa State.
The quarterback is the third Gophers commit for 2018. They have commits from two other 3-star prospects: CB Benjamin Sapp III and OT Jalen Mayfield. The offensive tackle Mayfield committed on Saturday.
