Two of the four Minnesota players who had their expulsions upheld after a school investigation into an alleged sexual assault have announced they’ll transfer to the same junior college.
Tamarion Johnson and Ray Buford Jr. both posted on Twitter in the last two days that they will enroll at Arizona Western and play football at the school next season. The community college is based in Yuma, Ariz.

The two players were among 10 involved in a sexual assault investigation into an incident that happened in early September. The 10 players were suspended for the Gophers’ bowl game, which led to a short-lived team boycott that drew national attention.
The players were the subject of a school investigation into the incident. After the recent appeals process, the school lightened some of the penalties against other players, but upheld the expulsions of Buford, Johnson, KiAnte Hardin and Dior Johnson.
Tamarion Johnson redshirted during the 2016 season while Buford appeared in seven games and made 16 tackles during his redshirt freshman season.
