Leidner had surgery following the 2015 Quick Lane Bowl and rehabbed through spring practices in 2016. The redshirt senior played 35 games at Minnesota in his career and started 29.
Last year, Leidner completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 6.6 yards per attempt with 14 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. The Gophers went 6-7, and are 20-15 in the 35 games he’s played.
