Minnesota’s Shannon Brooks, the team’s leading rusher in 2015, missed Tuesday’s practice due to a foot injury, The Star Tribune‘s Joe Christensen reports. Minnesota coach Tracy Claeys is expected to give an update on Saturday.
As a freshman, Brooks led the Gophers with 709 yards on 119 carries to pace the team in both yards and rushing average (6.0).
Brooks ran for more than 100 yards twice in 2015: 176 against Purdue and 174 against Illinois. Those were also the only two Big Ten games Minnesota won.
Brooks’ longest run traveled 75 yards against Illinois.
