On Saturday night, Vanderbilt guard Payton Willis reportedly verbally committed to Minnesota.
Willis was a sophomore this past season for the Commodores.

In his second season at Vanderbilt, Willis averaged 5.1 points per game. He averaged 18.5 minutes per contest this past season and 17.5 minutes his freshman campaign. He also averaged 5.2 points per game in his first season.
With Willis transferring, he has to sit out a year before using up potentially two years of eligibility. Minnesota this past season went 15-17 overall and Vanderbilt went 12-20.
The 6-foot-4 guard from Fayetteville, Ark. was ranked by 247Sports as a 3-star prospect in the Class of 2016. Willis ranked as the No. 3 player in Arkansas in 2016 and the No. 149 player overall.
