Jim Harbaugh coached in the Super Bowl and in front of 100,000-plus fans. But Sunday was different.
While speaking with MLB.com, the Michigan coach had high praise for the Wrigley Field atmosphere for Game 5 of the Cubs-Indians World Series.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” Harbaugh said. “Been to a few World Series games, never seen anything like this.”
When Fox showed Harbaugh on Sunday, it was impossible to miss Harbaugh’s glove. He wasn’t shy about his reasoning.
“You got to bring the leather to the game,” Harbaugh said with a smile. “Have to.”
Harbaugh was sitting next to his father, Jack. Harbaugh said his father was at Game 2 in Cleveland.
Harbaugh, who in the past said he has 20 baseballs from games, said he’s caught maybe a third of the baseballs. He gets most from hustle (of course), whether it’s getting baseballs from ricochets or in empty sections.
Not surprisingly, Harbaugh still has the little kid approach when it comes to getting baseballs. What will he do if he gets one?
