Michigan football’s biggest enemy stands 4 inches tall on your shoulder.
On Monday, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was asked about “Freddy P. Soft,” his take on the bad influence normally called the devil on the shoulder.
Freddy earlier appeared at San Francisco, when Harbaugh coached the 49ers. It’s clear Freddy is present at Michigan — and he’s well-dressed for the occasion.
“He’s a 4-inch guy that wears a cape and a hat with a plume in it,” Harbaugh said. “He’s just tall enough to talk right into your ear and tell you that, ‘You don’t have to practice today. Why are you working so hard? Get over there in the shade. No need to attack with enthusiasm unknown to mankind today. So take a break. Take a knee.’ He’s not a guy you want around. Get him off your shoulders as fast as possible.”
