Michigan tight end Ty Wheatley will miss spring practice due to a foot injury, Jim Harbaugh told reporters Friday.
Wheatley has a fractured metatarsal in his foot, but should be fine to return to the field in the fall, Harbaugh said. Wheatley, a 6-foot-6 junior, had 3 catches for 26 yards in the 2017 season and also caught 3 passes for 35 yards and a touchdown in 2016.
Michigan opened spring practice Friday. Harbaugh discussed Wheatley’s injury, Michigan’s quarterback situation, Shea Patterson’s eligibility and more. Here is a roundup of what he said.
The Wolverines will hold their spring game on April 14 at the Big House. Kick off is slated for 7 p.m.
