Three members of the NCAA-title-winning 1996 Michigan hockey team combined for an amazing performance in the Score-O game at Yost Ice Arena on Friday night.
Marty Turco, Brendan Morrison and Mike Legg each scored the puck from beyond the far blue line during the second intermission of Michigan’s 4-3 win over Michigan Tech.

Legg’s shot was particularly impressive, as he lifted the puck off the ground with his stick and flung it toward the narrow goal like a lacrosse ball. The shot was vaguely reminiscent of the goal he scored against Minnesota in a 1996 NCAA Tournament game, in which he picked up the puck with stick and wrapped it around the top corner of the net.
Turco, Morrison and Legg, along with many other teammates, were in Ann Arbor on Friday to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1996 national-championship Wolverines team.
