After one season at Michigan, Tony Tuioti is heading west.
Fresno State announced Thursday that it has hired Tuioti as its defensive line coach. Tuioti served as Michigan’s director of player personnel during the 2016 season.
Tuioti has proven himself as a recruiter, hosting several big-name recruits that ended up committing to the Wolverines. As of Thursday night he had yet to make any public comments on accepting the job, but he did retweet 4-star linebacker Jordan Anthony’s commitment.
Prior to coming to Michigan, Tuioti spent two seasons as a defensive quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns. He also spent six seasons coaching for his alma mater, Hawai’i. He played linebacker for the Rainbow Warriors and graduated from Hawai’i in 2000.
Tuioti is the eighth hire by Fresno State first-year coach Jeff Tedford.
