Say it again, Michigan: Clothes make the man, leaving the field safely, and may the force be with you
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Each Friday, we’ll cobble together a quick roundup of the best quotes and tweets from the Michigan football program’s coaches, players and recruits — and a few related to the Michigan athletic program. Some will be serious, some will be offbeat, but they’ll give some more insight on the Wolverines.
No. 3 Michigan (9-1, 6-1 Big Ten Conference) hosts Indiana (5-4, 3-4) at 3:30 p.m. EST Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

“I don’t know if I wore an Indiana shirt. I remember sitting at the ball game. You can ask Tom. I really haven’t thought about that in-depth. I’ve been very focused on the ball game. Very important game. A big game, without question.” – Jim Harbaugh on whether his brother-in-law, Indiana basketball coach Tom Crean, will root for Michigan when the Wolverines host the Hoosiers on Saturday.
Harbaugh, for the record, wore Indiana basketball gear at an NCAA Tournament game in March.

“He blew up on me because I had the wrong shorts on. I don’t know why we do it. Maybe I should just wear the right shorts next time. I forgot. We wear shorts on Monday, and our shorts got a number on them. Then it was the shorts they give us with the stripes on them and I was the only one who had the stripes on them. He just yelled at me.” – Michigan running back Chris Evans, on Harbaugh’s attention to detail in practices.
Evans probably wasn’t wearing these shorts, though.

“In my normal street wear, I like to wear shorts above my knees. It’s a comfort thing. I know some of them are getting on it, too. I know Derrick (Walton, Jr.), Fred (Wright-Jones), and Ibi (Watson) had thoughts of doing it, too. So you may be seeing it from someone else soon.” – Michigan basketball player D.J. Wilson, above, on his in-game attire.

“We don’t look at the quarterback going down as a rallying cry. Every week we go in, week in and week out, we always look at what is our job. What is our job, first and foremost. Then we kind of go over the overall game plan. We don’t look at it as a drop-off. We don’t look at it as anything different. It’s the next guy in. Game normal. We don’t look at it as, ‘Hey, now it falls on us.’ To be honest with you, hell, it always falls on us. That’s the way I always like to look at it. It’s nothing different.” – Running backs coach Tyrone Wheatley on Michigan’s concerns at quarterback, and where the running backs fit in. Michigan’s backs had their lowest output of the season — 98 yards on 35 carries — in last weekend’s 14-13 loss at Iowa.

“That was something else. There’s kind of a shock-factor thing going on. You just wanted to get out of there in that moment.” – Defensive lineman Maurice Hurst on Iowa fans storming the field.

One would think defensive linemen would be at an advantage in these situations, right?

And, finally …
Jourdan Lewis has his own take on a popular meme featuring Kermit The Frog, which has made the rounds on Twitter this week:
Me: it's 4th down swat the ball away…

Lewis has done that before, hasn’t he? On fourth-and-10 against Wisconsin, right?
