While, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7 will play host to more Michigan targets/commits, the Under Armour All-America Game still provides us with a few commits to watch play against the best competition in the country.
Here is who to watch on New Year’s Day at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN.
Commit: Cesar Ruiz
A 4-star player, according to 247Sports, Ruiz is the nation’s top center. He will likely get a big chunk of playing time, because he is one of very few true centers out of high school. He committed to Michigan on Dec. 19, and will enroll early once he gets home from the game on Jan. 4.
Commit: Kai-Leon Herbert
Also a 4-star offensive lineman, Herbert will see time at one of the two tackle positions – likely on the right side. This one is a little tricky, as Herbert has been known to be a softer commit to Michigan. Florida and Miami are still hard after him and might give Michigan a run for its money.
Commit: Drew Singleton
A 4-star linebacker, Singelton committed to Michigan just a week ago. His commitment has loomed for a long time and is solid. He should see significant time at linebacker.
Commit: Jaylen Kelly-Powell
Another 4-star – seeing a pattern? – Kelly-Powell wanted to be in the Under Armour game to showcase his talents out of Detroit against the SEC guys down south. His commitment is solid, as he, like Ruiz, will enroll in classes on Jan. 4.
Commit: Kwity Paye
Plot twist: Paye is a 3-star, unlike the others. His path to the game was interesting. He won a fan vote to earn his invitation to the game. And he will see some time at defensive end and perhaps even outside linebacker. His commitment is rock solid.
