Ann Arbor, Mich. — Michigan grabbed win No. 2 on the season Saturday against UCF. Another large margin victory, the Wolverines beat down the Knights 51-14 to further prove they belong inside the top five teams nationally.
The Wolverines jumped a spot to No. 5 ranking in the coaches’ poll, and remained at No. 5 in the AP poll going into Saturday’s game against unranked Colorado.
Previous rankings (Coaches/AP): No. 6/No. 5
New rankings (Coaches/AP): No. 5/No. 4
Last result: 51-14 win against UCF
What it means: It means they have lived up to the hype. While teams like Clemson and Georgia struggled against teams they should have beaten by 30-plus, Michigan was winning by said margin. Granted it’s Hawaii and UCF, but the Wolverines have taken care of business while others haven’t. Michigan finds themselves in the top four with a college football playoff spot to lose going forward.
