A lot is said as programs try to sell themselves to recruits. It’s always interesting for fans to see exactly what teams envision from a player as they try to gain a commitment.
Michigan and Notre Dame will renew their rivalry in the 2018 season opener. The Fighting Irish won the last meeting, 31-0 in 2014, but the two programs trended in different directions last season.
Could Notre Dame still be in for another huge win to start next season? That’s how the team’s recruiting department sees it going down in its communication with a Class of 2018 recruit.
Notre Dame recently sent 4-star cornerback Houston Griffith (IMG Academy/Bradenton, Fla.) a fake playing card with some anticipated stats on the back. The Irish see a big collegiate debut for the defensive back.
“He made his debut in the 48-10 victory over Michigan, recording 12 tackles, 1 TFL, 2 FF and 1 INT,” the card read.

Obviously the stats are blown out of proportion for recruiting purposes, but that’s still a big blowout to project — especially from a program that went 4-8 last season.
Will that help the Irish secure Griffith’s commitment? He’s leaning toward Notre Dame, according to his 247Sports Crystal Ball projections, but he also has offers from Ohio State, Alabama and, yes, Michigan.
