It’s recruiting season. And it’s busy. You need updates, so check here every day for a daily dose of Michigan recruiting news.
Jay Tufele to trim his list
A 4-star defensive tackle by the 247Sports composite, Jay Tufele is one of two targets left on Michigan’s interior tackle board. The other is 5-star recruit Aubrey Solomon.
Tufele’s list will get trimmed down on Monday night, as he’ll be announcing via Twitter. I fully expect Michigan to make the list, along with Ohio State and Utah. The others look to be fillers that won’t have much of a pull.
It’s been a three-horse race for most of the fall between the Buckeyes, Utes and Wolverines. And that trend won’t go away until around mid-January, when Tufele trims down to two schools before National Signing Day on Feb. 1.
After Tufele’s Michigan and Ohio State official visits, confidence rose at both schools. Michigan solidified itself as a contender, while Ohio State began to distance itself from the competition. In-state Utah has made noise, and some may say the opportunity for Tufele to stay home serves as a realistic ending.
Najee Harris dons Michigan gear again
Antioch (Calif.) 5-star RB (per 247Sports) Najee Harris is Michigan’s top target left on its board. And as an early enrollee, he must decide by Jan. 7.
He is known for not being active on social media. The only ones he ever “shows himself” on is Instagram and Snapchat. Things got a little interesting on his Snapchat on Christmas Eve.
The 5-star was donning maize-and-blue Michigan gear with his family for the holiday. And while it doesn’t mean he’s committed, where there”s smoke …
The Wolverines will hope for his commitment. And if they can pull it off, it will be the second year in a row Michigan lands the No. 1 overall prospect in the country.
Fans await, and so does every recruiting analyst, for what Harris will do.
Nico Collins will announce on National Signing Day
Michigan’s only target left at receiver is 4-star WR (247Sports composite) Nico Collins out of Pinson (Ala.). According to MaizeNBrew’s Evan Petzold, Collins will announce his decision on National Signing Day on Feb. 1
Collins has been favoring Michigan since early summer. And that sentiment hasn’t changed a bit. He was hearing a lot from in-state Alabama, but the Tide have seemed to back off. Georgia remains heavily in the mix.
He tweeted this last week in reference to Michigan landing 4-star recruit Tarik Black after already having the commitment of 4-star receiver Brad Hawkins. Adding Collins to the mix would make for quite the trio.
?that Trio though ???… scary sight ..

I still fully expect Michigan to land Collins.
