Three Big Ten players were included among the 20 semifinalists for the Rotary Lombardi Award, which is awarded annually to the “outstanding college football player and leader,” according to the award’s website. Michigan LB/RB/KR Jabrill Peppers and a pair of Ohio State players — QB J.T. Barrett and center Pat Elflein — are in the running for the award.
Candidates of any position must be on a preliminary watch list and must exhibit leadership skills.

The list of semifinalists will be narrowed down to four finalists and then one winner. Penn State DE Carl Nassib won the award last year.
