Michigan will have a significant visitor at the end of the month that is being chased by the likes of Clemson and Tennessee.
IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) inside linebacker Charles Thomas — the No. 4 prospect at his position for the Class of 2019, per 247Sports — will visit Michigan on June 24.
Originally from Fairburn, Ga., Thomas transferred to IMG following a sophomore season worthy of a roster spot at the prestigious football school in Florida.

In an interview with Land of 10 on Sunday morning, Thomas dished on why he’s visiting Ann Arbor and how the Wolverines staff has already started to resonate in his mind.
With offers from Clemson, Tennessee, West Virginia and a few others, the rising junior is getting a lot of interest from many big-time schools.
So, why is he visiting Michigan?
“I like the direction that the program has went under Coach [Jim] Harbaugh,” Thomas told Land of 10. “I just want to get up there.”
Michigan has just one linebacker committed in its Class of 2018 in Lee County (Ga.) 4-star OLB Otis Reese. The staff might be comfortable with just that one LB commit in this cycle.
That would open up room for two or three LBs in the 2019 class. One that fits the system perfectly is Thomas.
A 6-foot, 222-pound prospect, Thomas moves great and makes some of the best reads at the inside linebacker position that you will see out of a high schooler.

The defensive staff is giving the 4-star recruit a great impression.
“[Linebackers coach] Chris Partridge and I have a great relationship,” he said. “[Defensive coordinator] Don Brown and I are starting to build a really good relationship.”
Beyond all of the relationships, the fit he has into this defense and the usual recruiting small talk, there’s a big reason why Thomas likes the Wolverines.
“Coach Harbaugh has been around some great linebackers, such as Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman, who are two of my favorites,” he said.
Being from Georgia and then moving to Florida for his last two years of prep ball, one could assume that Thomas likes warm weather, and distance could factor into his decision.
But he says he likes to play in the cold. That’s not something you hear too often.
Thomas’ talents make him a top option for many schools in the 2019 class. And the Wolverines are getting a visit out of him.
Our 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction for Thomas to choose Michigan has been in since April 25.
