@LandOfJustice Most important position to recruit for 2018
— Steven Crompton 〽️ (@SCrompton37) February 24, 2017
Answer: I think it all begins with quarterback, but we’ll shy away from such an easy answer. I’ll go with defensive backs, specifically the corners.
Last season Michigan lost three starting cornerbacks in Jourdan Lewis, Jeremy Clark (injury) and Channing Stribling.
In 2017, there were only two commitments at the position in Ambry Thomas and Benjamin St-Juste.
It’s very early, so they’re not primed to land any at the position right now, but the Wolverines have offered five cornerbacks in the past two weeks who are taller than 6-foot-1.
Expect the cornerback position to be a top priority.
@LandOfJustice who do you expect the top recruit in this years class to be? Do you expect the elite in state dominance to continue?

Answer: For now I’ll say Las Vegas Bishop Gorman dual-threat QB recruit Dorian Thompson-Robinson. A 4-star, according to the 247Sports Composite, Thompson-Robinson hasn’t started once at Gorman as quarterback.
As the No. 54 overall recruit in the country, Thompson-Robinson has the best potential to end up being a Top 25 5-star recruit.
@LandOfJustice Will the wolverines make a push for TJ Pledger or will they pass? They seem to be backing off him a little bit
— Curt Alvesteffer (@curtalv8) February 24, 2017
Answer: Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 4-star RB TJ Pledger has been Michigan’s top target at RB in this class for nearly a year.
It sometimes will seem like Michigan is “backing off” a kid, but that’s simply due to the time of the year. It’s slow, and 5-stars who will pick their college almost a year from now might not want to be bombarded this early on.
I can say that Pledger being pursued aggressively by the Wolverines, and the gas will be hit hard when it gets closer to decision time.
If Pledger visits, which I expect, we’ll know a lot more about the Wolverines’ chances.
I currently see Michigan sitting in the middle-to-bottom half of his top 5 schools, along with Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and USC.
