Wolverines going all-out to sign long-time commit
Michigan is continuing its push for 4-star linebacker Otis Reese in the final days before National Signing Day.
Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports reports that head coach Jim Harbaugh and assistant coach Chris Partridge made an in-home visit to see Reese on Thursday in Leesburg, Ga. Reese has been a Michigan commit since June 2016 but didn’t sign with the Wolverines in December during the early signing period. He is also being heavily recruited by Georgia.
Reese is ranked as the No. 5 outside linebacker in the country in the 2018 class by the 247Sports composite. He is No. 87 in the overall rankings.
Wiltfong reports that Georgia coach Kirby Smart is expected to visit Reese in Leesburg on Saturday.

Reese visited Ann Arbor, Mich., two weeks ago and was in Athens, Ga., last weekend for his official visit with Georgia. He made several unofficial visits to Georgia last year, leading to speculation that he will flip to the Bulldogs. Reese has not spoken publicly about his recruitment and only occasionally tweets anything about it.
With the visits to those top-contending schools completed, Reese has been able to return to the Lee County (Ga.) High School basketball team. Reese had 13 points in a loss to Northside-Warner Robins this week.
“Reese helps us with our identity,” Lee County coach Kirven Davis told the Albany Herald. “He’s a tough guy. Once he gets in basketball shape, he should help us even more.”
Michigan is doing everything possible to bring Reese and his toughness to Ann Arbor.
National Signing Day times
Signings will come at different times Wednesday but we know when a couple of the players Michigan is targeting or has a commitment from will hold their ceremonies.
Nicholas Petit-Frere, a 5-star tackle from Tampa Berkeley Prep, will announce his choice in the 10 a.m. ET hour as part of ESPN’s coverage. He will pick from Michigan, Alabama, Ohio State, Florida and Notre Dame. Petit-Frere is the top-ranked tackle in the 2018 class and the No. 7 player overall.
Michael Barrett, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Georgia Class 7A Offensive Player of the Year, will have a ceremony with teammates at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Ga., at 11:30 a.m. ET. Barrett played quarterback for Lowndes but is expected to be moved to running back with the Wolverines. He accounted for 7,287 yards of total offense and 83 touchdowns in three seasons for Lowndes, according to stats on MaxPreps.

Wolverines make offers to three in-state recruits
Michigan has offered three more in-state players from the 2019 class: tackle Spencer Brown and quarterback Sam Johnson of Walled Lake Western and wide receiver Tre Mosley of West Bloomfield. Brown is rated as a 4-star player and is committed to Michigan State. He is ranked No. 9 overall in the state. Johnson is a 3-star prospect, as is Mosley.
