Wolverines target Lance Dixon gaining notoriety
One 2019 in-state player Michigan has shown plenty of interest in is Lance Dixon — and now more big-name schools are beginning to take notice, as well. The Wolverines offered the outside linebacker from West Bloomfield on Nov. 28, and he’s since picked up offers from Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Ohio State to go along with those he already owned from Penn State and Michigan State.
Texas A&M and new coach Jimbo Fisher joined the list this week.

Earlier Tuesday, I listed the top 2019 prospects from the state of Michigan. I have since updated the piece now that the 247Sports composite bumped Dixon from a 3-star prospect to a 4-star prospect. He has moved up from the No. 11 player in the state to No. 9.

The 10 Michigan recruits rated as blue-chip prospects (4 or 5 stars) equals the number from the 2017 class that featured Donovan Peoples-Jones, Ambry Thomas, Josh Ross and Jaylen Kelly-Powell. Michigan signed seven of the top eight players in that class. The 2012 class had 11 players rated at least 4-stars, the most for the state in the 247Sports composite era that dates back to 2000.
Dixon (6-foot-3, 195 pounds) led West Bloomfield to the Division 1 state championship game where it lost the most defensive of defensive struggles, 3-2, to Clarkston. He was credited with 8 tackles and a sack in the game.
Dixon plans to take an unofficial visit to Michigan the first weekend of March.
Michigan offers top-100 pass rusher
Michigan offered 4-star outside linebacker/defensive end Nana Osafo-Mensah from Nolan Catholic in Fort Worth, Texas, on Tuesday.

He is ranked No. 97 overall nationally and is the No. 6 weakside defensive end in the Class of 2019. Osafo-Mensah is 6-4 and 227 pounds, and has offers from 25 programs. He is planning on announcing his commitment on May 19, after Nolan Catholic’s spring game. He released a top 10 list last week before receiving the Wolverines’ offer, so he’s adjusted his list to include them.
The Wolverines stayed in Texas and offered 4-star wide receiver Dylan Wright from West Mesquite High in the Dallas Metroplex area. Wright (6-3, 192) is ranked No. 181 overall in the country and is the No. 34 wide receiver. The offer from Michigan gives him 30, including LSU, Alabama, Florida, Florida State and Ohio State.
