During bowl season, college football fans show pride toward their team more than any other point in the season.
That is even the case among individuals in the U.S. government.
On Friday, U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell, who represents Ann Arbor in District 12, placed a wager with two South Carolina representatives on the Outback Bowl, which features a matchup between Michigan and South Carolina. The two South Carolina representatives she made the deal with are Jim Clyburn and Joe Wilson.
Made a friendly wager with @JimClyburnSC & @RepJoeWilson on the #OutbackBowl Monday. When @UMichFootball wins, Rep. Wilson owes us some SC barbecue & Rep. Wilson is offering up a basket full of SC goodies. If @GamecockFB wins, we're wagering some items from @zingermans. #GoBlue!

According to her tweet, if Michigan wins, Wilson and Clyburn owe Dingell and her husband, John, some “South Carolina barbecue” as well as a basket filled with South Carolina “goodies.” However, if South Carolina wins, Dingell said she and her husband will owe Wilson and Clyburn some items from Zingerman’s Delicatessen in Ann Arbor.
Dingell has a history with Michigan football. She was an honorary captain for the Wolverines in November.
