Paul Finebaum has had plenty of negative things to say about Jim Harbaugh and Michigan in the past.
But on Monday, Finebaum finally had something positive to say about the Wolverines. It’s all about the news of Ole Miss QB Shea Patterson transferring to Michigan.
“Jim Harbaugh just poached one of the SEC’s best QBs in Shea Patterson,” Finebaum tweeted on Monday. “If the NCAA allows him to play in 2018 the Wolverines become a title contender.”

That’s a much different tune than normal. Finebaum has previously mocked Michigan fans, calling them a “whiny and sniveling bunch” last season. The ESPN personality also hasn’t hidden his thoughts about Jim Harbaugh. Earlier this season, Finebaum called Harbaugh “overrated.”
“He’s overrated. Jim Harbaugh, in the offseason, he’ll go to Normandy, he’ll go to Russia, he’ll go to China, he’ll save world peace by going to North Korea, but right now he’s a very average football coach,” Finebaum said, according to 247Sports. “He sucks all of the oxygen out of the offseason and he is currently tied for fourth in the Big Ten.
“In the last 11 games, Jim Harbaugh is 6-5. Jim Harbaugh makes $11 million a year. His team is playing Rutgers. They’re both tied right now for fourth in the Big Ten.”
